Why Camp Joy?

Christy Shell has been in the Camping/Outdoor adventure industry since she was 16 years old and has worked with Camp Joy since 1998. Although she could have called many camps in the Ohio region “home”, Camp Joy’s mission and consistent professionalism won her heart. Camp Joy’s attention to quality of facilities, food, hospitality and most importantly safety make it a place she can to trust with her precious clients. If the idea of camp makes you nervous, you will be pleasantly surprised. If the idea of camp makes you excited, you are going to love it! Here is Camp Joy’s website, check it out for yourself.

DIRECTIONS ALERT: Please use the directions Camp Joy provides on their website. The route GPS systems often direct people is rather rugged. http://camp-joy.org/facilities/directions

About the Adventure Experiences:

daring heart photo3We will be using all types of activities (art, dancing, nature,…) to practice living courageously during the retreat, included will be two high ropes course adventures.

The adventure activities are offered as learning opportunities. During these experiences you will choose how you would like to participate. Camp Joy and I follow a philosophy referred to as “Challenge by Choice” which means each individual will choose their level of challenge without coercion from the Camp Joy staff, the other participants or me.

Every participant is required to complete a medical information form and risk & release wavier prior to attending the retreat, regardless of how you choose to participate. Camp Joy’s record for safety is outstanding.

If you have any questions or further concerns, please do not hesitate to email me.
